Experience the elegance of Bordeaux with this So Chic Bordeaux 4-Bottle Gift Bag, which includes four 75 cl bottles from the 2022 vintage under the AOC Bordeaux appellation. This curated collection combines two bottles of Château Segonzac la Forêt and two bottles of Château Talmont, offering both finesse and value in a stylish, reusable wine bag — perfect for gifting or enjoying at home.
Appellation & Origin: Produced in the Bordeaux AOC, from the estate of Vignobles Mourgues.
Blend: According to the estate's technical sheet, the wine is made from Merlot (45 %), Cabernet Sauvignon (42 %), and Cabernet Franc (13 %).
Winemaking: Each grape variety is vinified separately; alcoholic and malolactic fermentations happen in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. The wine then spends at least 9 months in contact with French oak staves to build structure.
Tasting Notes:
Colour: Deep red with purple hues.
Aroma (Nose): Intense fruity aromas such as blueberries and blackberries, layered with subtle notes of vanilla, mocha, and cocoa from oak ageing.
Palate (Taste): Fresh and balanced, with red- and black-fruit flavours, smoky undertones, and fine, chalky tannins.
Food Pairing: Pairs beautifully with mushroom risotto, tenderloin, aged cheese, or even rich desserts like fruit cakes. v
Serving Tips: Best served slightly chilled at 14–16 °C.
Appellation & Origin: From Château Talmont in the Bordeaux AOC region.
Grape Varieties: Merlot is a dominant grape, with other typical Bordeaux varieties such as Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon also present.
Tasting Profile:
Nose: Aromas of blackberries, cherries, and hints of vanilla, oak, and cinnamon.
Palate: Medium-bodied, with fine, polished tannins, and a refined balance between fruit and structure. According to James Suckling, there are berry flavours plus a smooth, focused texture.
Finish: Elegant, with lingering red fruit notes and a touch of spice.
Alcohol Content: Around 14% ABV.
Food Pairing: Great with grilled meats, game, roasted vegetables, or cheese — also a good match for lighter, summer fare when served slightly chilled. Bordeaux’s own site recommends serving at 13–15 °C.
Ageing Potential: Meant to be enjoyed young but can develop further complexity over 1–4 years.
